While I'm not anti-religious and believe in the power of prayer, when someone prays in the middle of a conversation, it's a bit of a pray-jacking…
My wife and I are also working on a term to describe an objection to an assertion made in a prayer. There's no "line-item" veto in a prayer really.
My mom is famous for this. "Help Chris with his 'not listening'" (or whatever) she'd pray and then expect I'd say "amen" at the end of the prayer.. What can I do? object? "Oh and dear Lord please ignore her last comment, thanks." It's funny and provides us with a laugh.
